Learning to swim can be a frightening experience, but it is a critical skill that everyone must have. The team at Mabry Swimming Lessons help students learn to swim through firm instruction, motivation, and lots of laughing. Over the course of a week, sometimes two, the team helps students overcome their fear and develop an appreciation for the water and the sport of swimming. We strive to develop student’s swimming skill, as well as the confidence to use that skill. Ages 18 months and up are accepted. All skill levels are accepted, from not knowing how to swim at all to perfecting strokes and diving in preparation for swim team.
We will offer private lessons for 30 minutes a day Monday through Friday. Unlike our lessons offered in Hattiesburg, MS, we come to you! Whether it is your own private pool, or at a local public pool, we are ready to work with you where you are at. We look forward to working with you and your children! Lesson times are contingent upon availability and the travel distance between pools. We are committed to accommodating your schedule to the best of my ability. In the event that any adjustments are necessary, you will be notified a week prior to your scheduled lesson.
Lessons are $250 per child per week. Payment is completed through cash or Venmo for our Huntsville, AL lessons. You will be contacted after registering your child for lessons via our online form. There will be a fee for extended travel outside of the Hampton Cove area. Your instructor will discuss this with you after registering for lessons.

How old must my child be to register for lessons?
Your child must be at least 18 months or older (by the time lessons begin) in order to register for lessons.
Where will lessons be held?
We come to you! We will meet you at your own pool or at a public local pool. Just let us know during the registration process. Lesson times are contingent upon availability and the travel distance between pools. We are committed to accommodating your schedule to the best of my ability. In the event that any adjustments are necessary, you will be notified a week prior to your scheduled lesson.
Will class be canceled if it rains?
No. We will meet in our regularly scheduled classes unless you are contacted. We will reschedule classes in the event of heavy rain or lightning.
How do I register multiple children for lessons?
You must complete one registration form per child.
How do I register my child for multiple weeks?
You’ll need to go through the registration process again for each class you are wanting to sign up for.
When is payment due?
Payment is due before lessons can begin.
How do I cancel my registration?
If you are looking to cancel your registration, send us an email at mabryswimhsv@gmail.com and we will cancel your registration.
If I cancel my registration, can I get a refund?
If your child becomes sick and you have provided a doctor’s note or you have a family emergency and we are unable to reschedule for a future week, partial refunds will be granted. For all other cases, refunds will not be granted.

How do I switch my child to a different class time?
Once you have picked the new class, send us an email at mabryswimhsv@gmail.com and we will cancel your previous registration. Be sure to include which class and time that you are needing to be canceled in the email so that we don’t accidentally cancel the wrong class. We will switch you to the appropriate class.
Meet Your Instructors
Todd Mabry
For over 15 years, I’ve cultivated a deep passion for empowering individuals of all ages to become confident and safe in the water. My journey began in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where I co-founded a successful swim instruction business. My career path as an Aerospace Engineer brought my family to Huntsville, Alabama. Having our four young boys has only deepened my dedication to teaching swim safety. I believe this vital life skill goes beyond recreation; it fosters confidence and empowers individuals to navigate aquatic environments with self-assurance. My teaching approach prioritizes a positive and supportive learning environment. I strive to ensure each student feels comfortable and empowered as they progress on their aquatic journey.
Berkli Phillips
Huntsville native Berkli Phillips brings a passion for aquatic safety and a love of working with children to her role as a swim instructor. Berkli is currently a sophomore at the University of Alabama, majoring in Civil Engineering, and a member of the Phi Mu sorority. Berkli holds lifeguard certification and boasts four years of experience working at JVRA and Valley Hill Country Club. In addition to her lifeguarding experience, Berkli has a natural ability to connect with children, fostered by her many years of babysitting experience. Berkli finds the most fulfillment in swim instruction by witnessing her students’ rapid progress and by helping them develop a sense of comfort and confidence in the water.
